-Space theme with a mix with reality and space merged into one
- spaceships clear sci-fi theme
- eye connotes sci-fi as its the window to the soul and difference between human
- portals which switch between reality and sci-fi, merging the two world together

Codes and conventions
- textual reference to back to the future which is also sci-fi

Sound
- techno music suggests that rick and Morty is something from out of space, the fast paced music fits with the fast changing scenes in opening credits
