Ideology- The beliefs and values of a media text. What is the function of an advert? To make the audience feel like they need the product in life, so their life maybe lacking something that they feel they need by seeing the advert. To promote different types of people. Producer- The maker of a media product. Dominant ideology- The set of ideas or culture that is most common or widely accepted in a society. It can change over time. Ideology in the Tide advert The character is an ideal in society, she is dressed like she's going out suggesting the product is important. The fact she is hugging the product suggests its important and he love for the product. The ideology is that she wants to clean and enjoys it. Vintage advert

Definitions: Z-line - The way you read a text, read in a Z shape (top left to bottom right ) Rule of thirds - An image is split into 3 by 3 squares, so everything should be spread over the squares Headings and subheadings - Text at the top of the page showing what something is about Serif font - with bottom of the font (feet), more formal Sans-serif font - without the bottom of the font (feet), less formal Lexis - The choice of language Mode of address - How the advert wants to address/speak to their audience Tide advert: My first impressions of this advert is it is old and quite vintage especially as its from the 1950s. I think the audience gets this impressions the way the women has her hair styled as well as the advert which doesn't fit in with todays adverts. Also it has the stereotypical woman on the front with the washing powder suggesting that woman are the ones who will use it as they're the housewives. So their target market is aimed...

Graphics, logos etc Language – slogan/tagline and copy  Anchorage of images and text- Elements of narrative- The way in which a story is told This advert is selling a designer coach handbag. The advertisers have drawn focus to the bag by using a close up shot of the bag. But alongside this they have also used another image showing the mod...

Evaluation of suspense short film

Overall I think the task went well as we used all the shots needed and also got the sounds we needed. The specific shots we used were long shots, high shots, extreme close ups and empty shots. I think we made good use of these shots by setting the scene and letting the audience know the scenario. When put together we created a short suspense film which made the audience wonder what was going to happen next.  If we were to do it again I would save the work frequently as we lost it this time and had to redo it in short time so we couldn't add sounds. Another improvement we could've made was to add the end title but as we had such a short amount of time we ran out. From the feedback we received we were told the extreme closeup of the eye built up the suspense and tension as they knew something was going to happen. We also were told that the cinematography of our work was good which made it easier to edit the film.

Suspense Sequence-Short Film

Editing- The selection of different clips that can be altered Shot- An uninterrupted sequence of footage Shot duration- How long a shot lasts until it is cut Mise-en-scene- Anything which is put in the scene/shot Cinematography- Everything to do with the caera Low Angle shot- the camera is positioned below the subject High Angle shot- camera is above the subject Shot type- the distance between the camera and the subject Long shot- long distance between the camera and subject Extreme Close Up- very short distance between the camera and subject Positioning- The way in which a text locates members of the audiance Scenario exploring abandoned school Title Stairway to hell Sounds door opening footsteps dripping of water as near water fountain  aircon as background noise lift makes noise lift begins to open
